Our directors are wholly involved in all project work undertaken by the consultancy, and work as hands-on managers of the research and consultancy teams, answering directly to the clients.

Helen Chen
A principal at PBD Consulting, Helen has eight years of experience in private equity, with Texas Pacific Group and management consulting, with AT Kearney. She has been involved in projects ranging from deal generation to portfolio management to final exit. Prior to that, she held various corporate finance and marketing positions at Applied Materials, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer in California. She has an MBA from University of California at Berkeley and is fluent in Chinese and Japanese.

David Farlow
A Director at PBD Consulting. David has built and run operations for a wide range of Blue Chip Companies in UK and US: Lloyds TSB, Sallie Mae, British Gas, Wells Fargo, and Capital One. He commenced his career in consulting working 8 years for Bain and Co. in Europe, Asia and the US. He graduated from Cambridge, and has an MBA from Stanford University.

Ben Hodgson
Business Development Director at PBD Consulting, Ben's early career involved serving as a Major in the parachute Regiment. On leaving the army he read for his MBA at Bradford university. At PBD he has developed an expertise in the defence sector and has helped a number of clients exploit military technology in civil applications and markets.

  Lisa Whelan
Director of PBD Consulting. A graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology, with an early career marketing Irish companies, based in UK, where she gained experience in export marketing and the acquisition process At PBD, Lisa developed the commercial due diligence business with a focus on private equity clients, across a wide range of industry sectors, and has been involved in several hundred transactions

Sean McCarthy
A Director at PBD Consulting, Sean re- joined PBD in 2012, following a ten year period working in the space ,traffic, energy and environment divisions of QinetiQ. After graduating from Keele University, he managed an Abu Dhabi based business consultancy for ten years, focusing on regional market research and industrial feasibility studies.
